I’m Jenn Burke, and I’ve been involved in writing and editing professionally (in some form or another!) for more than 25 years. With 20-plus published romance books under my belt since 2015, I have an extensive knowledge of what it takes to make a book shine.
Editing has always been my passion, and I’m excited to help make your book the best it can be!

Services
Developmental Editing
Developmental editing looks at the big picture of your story. I’ll read through your manuscript and provide feedback on your plot, pacing, characters, and other overarching elements. I’ll let you know what works and what doesn’t, and give some auggestions on how to move forward.
Rates start at C$0.013/word, depending on the complexity of the project.
Line Editing
Line editing happens at the sentence level. I’ll make sure your prose is as strong as it could be, identifying errors, awkward phrasing, repeated words, and more.
My rate for line editing is C$0.009/word.
Proofreading
Proofreading should be the last step in preparing your manuscript for publication. I’ll look for grammatical problems, missed punctuation, and other errors.
My proofreading rate is C$0.006/word.
Website Help
With more than 20 years’ experience in web communications, I can make your website shine. I specialize in information architecture design and web copy writing, but I can also help set up your site on a content management system so you can maintain it yourself. C$45/hour
Alternatively, I can help you maintain your website on an ongoing basis, adding pages, updating links, and more. C$40/hr
